Marketing on Facebook in 2021

The pandemic has affected daily business and consumer behavior. To spark a dynamic interaction between a business and a consumer, social media has to be used creatively.

Strategies must strengthen the relationship between a business and consumers. Digital media is intimate and ideas channeled through digital media are not just messages, but experiences. It would be better to plan a proactive strategy in the following ways.

Use Relevant Business Info

In the About section of the Facebook page of a business, there should be as much business details as possible including product information, website, address and contact details.

This makes the page helpful for customers as they would get all the essential information on one page. If the business is a restaurant, then the page should include all the types of food that a restaurant serves and the menu should also be uploaded as a PDF for the customers to go through.

Develop Brand Awareness

With more people at home, consumers are more likely to browse online to pass time. Planned ads can be used that would revolve around the value a product or service provides as consumers would be looking for more content to consume. Facebook’s traffic alone has grown by 27%, hence it is important to keep audiences engaged.

Bones Coffee ran a COVID-19 related ad on Facebook and gave consumers a discount of 20%. They donated bags of coffee to first responders with every purchase.

Use an appropriate cover photo

A high quality image that effectively communicates a brand’s message should be used as a cover photo on Facebook. The cover photo can be one powerful image or a collage of products. It could also highlight an offer or feature a testimonial submitted by a customer.

The cover photo should be updated periodically. The cover photo can be changed monthly. Among brands, a seasonal change of cover photo is also popular. Hulu has one that is coordinated with the Pride campaign.

Remarketing Campaigns

A lot of consumers abandon a website without completing a purchase. This would be the perfect time to re-engage with previous customers by offering them incentives like ‘free shipping’. Customers who have liked or commented on a Facebook business page can be given special offers.

Encourage Likes and Shares

Encourage users to ‘like’ and ‘share’ the content on your page when you post. This way it will be shared on their walls and in their newsfeeds , increasing visibility of the page. Create a community that encourages users to discuss topics and interact with each other in the comments.
